Citizens Of Montrose: Reviews & Ratings
Interesting place with the Good Food and really good service. It is a solid four in my mind. I think maybe there was too much height around this place and for the food, but I was a bit underwhelmed overall maybe because I was expecting way too good of a service than what it turned out to be. I got a burrito it was decent. I mean for the price of it it seemed kind of small and nothing special necessarily but it tasted good. I mean I won’t compare it to a Chipotle burrito which is probably three times the size of this.. but it was okay. Hubby got the salmon with egg Benedict and early it was good and nothing exceptional.. we are absolutely had to try the banana bread French toast even though we were stuffed we are requested for that and I will say that it was the highlight of the brunch so for that I think this place is a solid four. I did get a Matcha latte which I think was not made right maybe they use too much of hot water which made it a bit bitter but it’s okay. I had it anyway. Hubby got the green clean juice that he absolutely loved.
I’m back again with another review and today I’m at the Citizen of Montrose Café in Houston,Texas and let me tell you y’all this is such a beautiful place the environment, the scenery the people everyone is so nice. I’m so thankful for Paula Noriega, for giving me such a great experience in this location she offered to give me some suggestions for food and drinks, which I’m gonna post all of them absolutely. Drinks - so for my drink today I had the blue Matcha with lavender and almond milk, as soon as you get it, it is gorgeous colored the silky blue going into the almond milk. I was amazed by the presentation for sure but it’s the flavor that caught my full on palette. You taste the Matcha you taste the lavender but with the flavors combined it is like tasting the sweetest Fruitloop spoonful ever oh my gosh, it was so good. Next, I had the fluffy grapefruit juice. I was a little confused why it was fluffy because I’ve never heard of something like that but when I tried this drink if you’re a big citrus and grapefruit drinker, this is the drink for you. I love how it’s sweet in the beginning and then it’s tart and then it’s bitter. It’s perfect for someone who enjoys trying new things and with an open eye to everything. Food- now let’s get into food because y’all this was amazing so what I had was the Cast Iron Chorizo Baked Eggs, I also asked for a gluten-free bread because I have an allergy and I was so happy that Paula was like. Oh absolutely we have gluten-free options. and then for the sides because I am a little peckish I got the smoked salmon and it came with pickled onions, arugula, and a lemon y’all when I put this on my gluten-free bread I wanted to hop out of my chair. The smoked salmon was so fresh. The vegetables were so crisp. Oh my goodness it was amazing. But it was the main dish that was like a burst of explosion of flavor you could taste the beans you could taste the egg you could taste the red peppers, the potato oh my God it was so delicious I definitely recommend everyone coming here for brunch. They have a huge drink menu of everything and anything you wanted all sorts of spirits, alcohol, nonalcoholic drinks they’ve got different coffees, Matcha drinks, chai lattes they even have wine YALL. I had to finish off my brunch with a shot of espresso with lemon because it’s time to go to the gym Lastly, I’m definitely coming back. I had so much fun chatting with everybody. The manager was there saying hello to everyone making sure that everyone was doing great.
Everything was delicious!! Kent helped us make our selection and he did not disappoint. The Morning Glory Bowl was filling and I loved the addition of the beet hummus. The Brisket Burger was fresh and juicy. I definitely recommend this place for brunch.
This was a fantastic dining experience! I went for breakfast on a Wednesday and the vibes were immaculate! The food was delicious (got the French toast), the latte was perfect, the music was 10/10 (old school R&B) and my server (Jonny) was by far one of the best I’ve had in a long time!!! He let me know that they pride themselves on being a third space and encourage people to read and hang out while there! I can’t wait to come back!
We enjoyed our brunch at Citizen. It's a bright, airy place with a super friendly staff who were smiling, cheery and attentive. This is one of 4 in the USA, two in NYC and one open or opening in Austin. Two guys from Oz started the concept in NYC and here we are. The pancakes were so amazingly fluffy and taste. You can actually differentiate the butter, syrup and compost flavors. The Cast Iron Chorizo was nice. It looks small, but it's quite filling. Different than our usual Tex/Mex style. Dig through the beans and Chorizo and discover the poached eggs which explode as you poke them. Such a tasty and exciting dish. The prices are accessible and fair. Parking on east side and back of the building. Definitely recommend. We'll be back.
Oh wow this place is really nice!!! Atmosphere is great, colorful. I order the Nutella and halzenut coffee, clean machine juice and Cast iron chorizo poached eggs! Everything was delicious!!! They brought a surprise pancake for my mom!!! Everything was really good! I definitely recommend this place!!!
Made reservations for brunch and had a great experience! The only negative would be how loud the place was inside because it was quite busy. It got better once there was less people there. The mimosas are really strong and yummy. The brisket burger was amazing, as well as the fries. The banana pancakes might be the best thing I’ve ever had!! Definitely will be back!
our server Ryan H. was the best!! she hooked us up; we were in disbelief! she gave us an amazing experience and was soo sweet and charismatic. the food was great & Citizen has a wide selection for drinks — which i love anywhere. they have a variety of coffee, smoothies, and alcoholic drinks topped with cute straws! the churro french toast w/ caramel butterscotch sauce was yummy, along with the hashbrowns. we sat at the bar because it was busy & the staff was all so nice and sweet. the interior design was incredibly cute. the only thing i will mention is that you should be prepared to not find parking in the small lot next to the building; we valeted across the street for $10.
